Being a responsible adult is about standing by your own convictions even if the court of popular opinion resorts to ad hominem attacks that seek to question the sanity of the dissenting voice. You may think that it makes as little difference as "pissing into an ocean of piss", but you're dead wrong. It's about having honor, and it's more important than anything else in life.
Mar 21, 2019 at 2:07 | comment | added | Trevor | @Will No, I think you need to re-read that and understand the metaphors and similes a bit better.
Mar 20, 2019 at 22:06 | comment | added | Will | Did you just seriously try to imply I'm insane for believing in speaking out when faced with wrongdoing? You may agree or disagree, but that's a pretty low move Trevor D. Shame on you.
Mar 20, 2019 at 17:36 | comment | added | Trevor | @Will If your the only sane person in a world of insanity, are you still sane? That's basically the world we live in. A review won't change anything. "A sucker is born every minute" is a very true statement. Trying to fix a negative corporate world with negative reviews is just pissing into an ocean of piss, it makes no difference. But in the end, we all have roughly 50 to 100 years to live. How do you want to spend that short amount of time? Trying to fix a company that is likely to die soon anyways, or working to contribute positively to the world around you?
Mar 20, 2019 at 12:35 | comment | added | Trevor | @Nyakouai I am always wary of editing a high upvoted answer, but the answer is, no, there is no positive outcome from this, but a whole bunch of negative ones. Any action would represent a high risk on your part, with no potential reward. And thus, my advice, is to forget about them.
Mar 20, 2019 at 8:23 | comment | added | Nyakouai | I understand the sentiment and thank you for your answer and time, however, it does not really adress the "will it have an impact" question. For this reason, I'm going to validate an answer adressing the question, despite the massive amount of vote. Just know that you have mine too. Thank you.
Mar 20, 2019 at 0:34 | comment | added | Will | This shouldn't be the #1 answer. This "just forget about it" bullshit only perpetuates the vicious cycle of giving exploitative companies a carte blanche to rot the whole industry to the core. The state of affairs where 99% of the industry has this "everyone for themselves" mentality is what makes the rare honest voice stand out like a sore thumb. I say you are all fundamentally wrong. Maximizing your income to ensure your livelihood is not one's only responsibility -- I strongly believe that having a moral compass, and speaking out against wrongdoing is simply your duty as a human being.
