The censoring in the post and not calling a kettle a kettle (like censoring words) indicate a level of discomfort with rough language that simply isn't present in all cultures.

The one says swearing is not okay when it's abusive, it's "okay" when it's not abusive and part of the culture and recommends gently addressing the swearing, or just accepting it. The other involves a coworker incessantly trying to get rid of non-abusive swearing. The former doesn't recommend the latter approach, so there's no contradiction there. Although the answers in the latter could be a bit more empathetic.
