During that period the new hire is learning to use and maintain the system, learning the company culture, he doesn't yet have the knowledge needed to perform emergency maintenance on it (unless maybe that maintenance equates to telling someone to reboot the server, but that's not something that other person should have to be told to do, it should have been written down in HIS checklist of things to do in case of problems). | |
