This question already has an answer here:
I am new to a place in which the team was formed out of another dev who is experience in the tech/product domain and myself.
My problem is that this guy keeps doing the new/cool tasks leaving me with the old ones (check my previous question to have more context).
Is it my problem that I want to work on cool new tasks and be involved in our system solution? Is it wrong to have the desire to part of the decision?
What happens is that everyday he says he's doing something, but at the end of the day he shows a solution for an important issue. He knows the technology while I don't, and that's why he knows what/how should things be done.
The manager is fairly new and they prefer someone with experience.
I feel frustrated, I need to be involved, I am so frustrated that I may not have even asked this question properly. I am afraid I will be perceived as under performing.
Will I be perceived bad if I asked to be involved?
