Escalation refers to raising an issue with a higher level of management for resolution, after being dissatisfied with the resolution offered at a lower level.

Common examples of escalation are:

  • A customer raising a complaint with the management after not receiving a satisfactory response from the helpdesk.
  • An employee raising an issue with the next level manager when their immediate manager does not offer a suitable solution.
