Nov 22, 2017 at 15:35 comment added TtT23 Counterpoint: Men in Republic of Korea also has to go through 24 months of compulsory military duty. Over there, military service is most certainly not considered as a job, and employers would find it very odd for candidates to list it as one. I'd say this point can be very country / culture specific and how you format the resume should follow the country's norms.
Nov 22, 2017 at 9:09 comment added toni Most men over 30 in Germany came of age when military service was compulsory. So even if it isn't now, it will not come as a surprise to anyone and will be included in many CVs from German candidates as well.

Nov 21, 2017 at 12:51 comment added Alexander Military service IS a job, even if it is compulsory. (Didn't they send a recruiter after you once a week to get you to sign up for prolongation? That should tell you something...)

Nov 21, 2017 at 11:09 comment added JJH Since I'm applying jobs in the country where military service is not compulsary. That's why I'm kinda confused under which category I should put it.
