Mar 8, 2021 at 9:38 comment added oligofren I understand that you feel this was difficult, but this is a storm in a waterglass. I would never even dream about this being a thing. I thought it was a warm and humorous thing you could joke about in the office. Now, I am not German, but I have lived in Kiel, Berlin and Vienna and in none of those places are there people that would find this anything but a funny incident that most would quickly forget about. This is only a problem if you make it one.
Nov 26, 2020 at 1:00 comment added gnasher729 Bit of humour: "Do you have a son? Do you want to swap?".
Feb 5, 2019 at 7:34 comment added Sam Orozco I have been in similar situations and I think two things. First, I don't think people are going to care as much as you think they will. Second, I say you should take it head first. You were and are embarrassed by it so just say that. Someone mentions it: "I know that was so embarrassing I can't believe that happened. The timing couldn't have been better" Then move on.

Jan 29, 2019 at 23:02 comment added Giacomo1968 What country did this happen in? What kind of company do you work in? The U.S.? Or a similar Western country? In general I doubt anyone cares. I am in the U.S. and would genuinely joke about it by saying, “He’s been like this since he was a kid… Just getting drunk at odd times!!! Hahahah!”

Clarifying the son is an adult in the title and rewording. Also breaking up a paragraph.
