Mar 11, 2019 at 19:14 comment added Alex L @CodeSeeker I was not saying that you should work for free. I was speaking in terms of asking for a raise or getting a promotion. Let's say an employee has an intermediate position, If you want that senior title and the salary, the employee should start acting like a senior and work like a senior. You should not say : I am not doing this task because I am not paid enough. This mindset brings you no where. Start acting like a senior, hope to have the promotion. After a time, if you are still in the same place, another company shall consider you a senior.
Mar 11, 2019 at 14:12 comment added bukwyrm I concur about going in asking: ' I already did A,B,C, which are above average performance, and now here's D, which is an abolute whopper (tens of millions for a 50-employees company is great) - i currently earn X, i'd like to earn Y, is this happening? - Then they are on notice about your wishes, and should they want to retain you, they'll accomodate those at once, or give you a timeline. If you do not like it, you can walk. As you had the idea on their time, this idea is theirs (under German law), so do not 'steal' or withhold it.
Mar 11, 2019 at 5:34 comment added CodeSeeker @AlexL Why on earth would you work under the "hope to be fairly rewarded?" Do you not know what you'll be paid in advance? I hope there's a huge potential upside for you if you don't know what you'll be paid. If you aren't receiving the pay that your value and performance deserve, and you don't want the risk of all your effort not paying off, then ask for the right pay, and change your job if that won't work.

Mar 8, 2019 at 17:19 comment added NDEthos @Ben Barden There is a difference between doing a job and revolutionizing it. Workers should see the benefits of their labor especially when that is out of scope with the normal duty parameters.
Mar 8, 2019 at 14:51 comment added Alex L It reminds me people who say "I'm not paid enough to do something like this.". This is not the reality of work market. You have to give yourself 110%, then hope to be fairly rewarded. If you are disappointed, go work somewhere else where your abilities will be valorized.
Mar 8, 2019 at 14:40 comment added PagMax I agree with the answer but not about salary negotiation asap. That should happen whenever your performance review are due and not every time YOU THINK you have a great idea.
Mar 8, 2019 at 14:26 comment added Ben Barden @Tétef asking to take charge in the development of a project as someone who has only one year of experience out of school might not fly all that well. In many fields, there are skills necessary to run projects that go beyond the kind of breakthroughs you're describing here.
Mar 8, 2019 at 14:18 comment added Tétef Thanks, that is a good approach. I'll describe, no strings attached my solution. Then I'll ask 3 things at the end of the presentation : to take in charge the development of the project, a salary negotiation asap, and to index my future salary on the success of this product
