It's about actually providing useful feedback, rather than a dismissive statement (or really, in this case, an outright insult). Think about your goals - you're trying to find a way to do your job and communicate with your peers (and superiors) better. Does saying "The work you did was worthless" help that in any way? | |

If he has the wrong ideas about how the software works, this will be a problem in the future. There's also always the possibility you've misunderstood something. | |
