It's also in the union (and most) workers interest to stick to them, so there are no exceptional top-earners in roles that normally don't warrant that sort of payment (like many rules such rules prevent the worst but also can hinder some positive outcomes). But if that is the case then this should be known throughout the company. So if it comes as a surprise to the employee in such a case, that's a clear sign of bad company policy and development path communication. | |
