The media caught on to it and lambasted me publicly for negligence and wrongdoing. On top of that the victims' family have filed a civil lawsuit against the landlord, myself and the city officials.

Although I am not charged with criminal proceedings my online reputation has been permanently damaged now.

Will this mean that I will not pass background checks in companies any more?
