In one he is firmly establishing that he does not want it, nor does he ever (option a). In the other he says he does not want it now, but in the future he wishes to move into management. It tells them where he stands for the future, and can also inform them which position to hire (they probably need a people manager in a, while a program manager might be enough for b). | |
