May 21, 2014 at 15:16 comment added grasshopper Hello, I think the most important thing here is your feelings after you got dismissed and the resulting fear that this is something that may happen again (and also maybe some nagging fear that your skills aren't good enough). Probably stackoverflow is not the best place to find support for the emotional aspect of this, but my impression is that this is the most important thing on your mind. Maybe talk to a friend instead and try to get positive feedback regarding your skills from other sources?

Apr 25, 2012 at 11:25 comment added Rudy Okay. Good to hear that. My suggestion then : make use of your interview process efficiently. The interview is not only one-sided, it's actually two sided. You should also measure whether the company is good enough for you.
Apr 25, 2012 at 11:17 comment added rocketscience @Rudy, I have a perm job. This is something that happened a while ago :)
Apr 25, 2012 at 11:15 comment added Rudy @rocketscience Although I feel sorry for you, it's time to go on and start finding a better job. Try to at least have a video conference call. You should also do a background check of the company you are trying to enter and don't believe what your agent sell, because agent is basically sales.

Apr 24, 2012 at 16:50 comment added Mark Booth Sadly I think this is a rant disguised as a question and since no-one has been able to edit out the rant in the last 14 hours, it's about time it was closed. If you have a good idea about how to redeem this question, suggest an edit and if it works, people can vote to re-open it.

Apr 24, 2012 at 12:18 comment added maple_shaft @rocketscience A standard 1099 contract ALWAYS has a definite period explicitly, even though it can be terminated at any time. This all sounds very wrong. I would talk to a lawyer if I were you.
Apr 24, 2012 at 12:04 comment added rocketscience Yes, salary was +30@hr. It was a signed contract with no defined period. Supposedly for 3 months and could go on.
