Is my current career hurting me How can I sell a blue-collar technical background when applying for my future careerwhite-collar technical jobs?

I am currently an automotive technician, and for many reasons I am deciding to switch careers and become a software developer. I am currently going to school for getting a degree in computer science and I would like to get an internship but I feel when employers see "Automotive Technician" on my resume it's a big turn offapplying for internships. Which is my assumption as to whyDespite sending off dozens of resumes, I haven't heard a peep fromgotten any one of the dozensoffers at all, partially because of companiesmy resume clearly stating that I have sentam currently an application toautomotive technician.

So my question is: WhatWhen coming from a blue-collar background/work experience, how can I do to keep my current careerprevent employers from hurtingmaking judgments about my future careerskill based on my current job?
