Dec 6, 2019 at 13:58 | comment | added | Vinícius M | @Technophile Thank you!! I'll definitely check those out, they seem really promising. I'll try to get one and if they deliver those claims and feel comfy, they will be my new default recommendation =]
Dec 5, 2019 at 22:34 | comment | added | Technophile | @ViníciusM Sorry if I misunderstood. FWIW, I found this link: happyears.co/award-winning-earplugs which says they have 25dB even attenuation across frequencies at $11..12 / pair, $3 shipping. Have not (yet) tried them.
Dec 2, 2019 at 17:14 | comment | added | Vinícius M | @Technophile First things first: it's not pay 250 pounds or lose your job, that's a false dilemma. E.g: I proposed a solution which would cost $25 =) But besides that — not everyone lives in a "first world country". I'd suggest looking up 'dollar street' and maybe double check your world's socioeconomic knowledge. I really meant it when I said "prohibitively expensive for me", as in "literally". To help put in perspective: 249 GBP alone is 30% higher than the minimum wage of my country. But we got import taxes which would make that more than 500 GBP. That's a privilege not many can afford.

Sep 23, 2019 at 11:52 | comment | added | Vinícius M | The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health also makes this recommendation for people working in loud environments: "(...) should wear double hearing protection (...) (i.e., they should wear earplugs and earmuffs simultaneously." from: cdc.gov/niosh/docs/98-126/default.html
