That's fine, in the end it did depend on your attachment to the job. The market when I was going through something similar was terrible so it would've been hard to find another job. Moving to London solved that a lot, even if competition is fierce.
Sorry, when I wrote that, I was referring to paid sick leave. If there's reasonable proof that it was caused on purpose by the employee they will give unpaid leave.

No problem. In regards to your 20% time, I would write what you've put down here in an email to HR. They exist to protect the company from people like her. I also forgot to mention that your GP can give you sick leave for work induced stress. Both my other half and I were given two weeks leave for that.
