Refusing job offer after visa sponsorship
It's unlikely to affect visa applications to the UK in the future. However, you should be prepared to answer questions during the visa application process as to why you were granted a visa and never used it. If a different company handles the whole process for you, they might be curious as well. It's unlikely they would terminate the process, but again, be prepared to answer questions.

Potential candidate posts a lot about politics on LinkedIn
@Strader although I totally agree with that, I think one of the issues that people encounter is that LinkedIn just becomes a mouthpiece for the political opinions of companies completely devoid of what people that work in those companies think. These kinds of things just become tools of oppressing people's opinions and thought.

Should my partner report that his friend was driving under the influence to their boss?
@PhilippeB. I'm not saying the friend is in the right. I don't think peeps should drive high at all. They're willing to throw this guy under the bus for unproven allegations, and for rudeness. Also, "to call him out on his behaviour" implies that they approached it with a much more aggro attitude than would likely have yielded results. Again, these are all allegations from someone who is asking if they should play cop and get someone fired before they even start.

As noted in another comment, this all sounds very retributive. It's also only allegations, and depending on what jurisdiction you're in, the report could actually harm you. What if the boss likes to smoke up? Are you going to report them next? What if other coworkers like to smoke up? Are they next?

This is the best advice because you're involving yourself and inviting all sorts of problems. This person coming over to OP's home allegedly high, and then having all of this background about their interactions, and then talking about reporting him to work sounds retributive. If OP and their boyfriend actually cared about this person being "out of character", they would talk to them directly. Instead, they want to punish this person for "being rude".
